Last weekend, I finished the Christmas Special of Dizzy Spells on Tapastic. It was a cool idea until Mr. Adam Cogan got his hands on it and made an awesome story. The results was great and I wanted to spend time on it to make it shine. Please check it out @ Dizzy Spells – Christmas Special and let me know what you think.
My family is coming over for the holidays and it’s time for my to finish this in the final stretch. I have the featured panel to draw with one additional. Then I have to finish rendering the rest of the issue which is about 5 panels or so.
A few people asked why the video I made of me working on this project was not on my site and I really did not have an answer. I will post the video soon in a new section of the site labeled “Videos”.
Thank you and stay tuned.
This is another panel I worked on today. It looks better to me than the one I did earlier but I can’t really tell why. I do notice the style is different.
Because I’m on the go so much, I don’t get to focus on ‘just’ drawing. I use mix media and the trouble with that is the beginning. If I start with good pencils, I’m done. If the pencils are sketchy, I’ll ink or scan as-is and digital ink. The results, nothing looks the same.
So, I’m starting to see the difference in these panels. The earlier post was a weak attempt to do concept art style work (which I’m not good at) (yet). I have to keep this comic style for now. I fight between doing tight line work and full computer art.
I have a few of these and I want to color this Christmas Special by December 15th 2016. I may have to call a few coloring pros for advise. In particular, legendary street artist/rapper Skam2? and the ungodly talented Tony Washington. If you have a good eye for art please let me know what I can do different with these. I will keep working as the deadline is tight but I can do changes if the argument on colors is valid 😉
